Members of the Northern Beaches Council are proposing to build a new multi-million Warriewood Community Centre at the existing Nelson Heather site on Jackson Road.

The project is supposed to comply with the growing demands for a public recreational and activity centre for the Warriewood community.

The Council lodged the first stage of the consultation process last March before the development actually proceeds. The planned development is part of the Warriewood Valley Strategic Review Addendum Report (2018).

For April, briefings and surveys about the project will be undertaken to gather the pulse of the community regarding this proposal. Concerned residents who would like to have their say on the project may attend the briefing on the 4th of April 2019 at the 6:00 p.m.to 7:00 p.m.

Residents are enjoined to RSVP to learn the briefing’s venue.

Currently, the Nelson Heather Centre consist of two halls, a meeting room and courtyards with ample seating areas. It is used for workshops, seminars, classes, meetings and exhibits. The planned development should expand the site, including its parking facility.

There is still no design draft for the proposed new Warriewood Community Centre. The concept drawing will be brought out and exhibited to the public by the Council in May.
