Warriewood And Elanora Heights Public Safety Round-Up: 08–13 February Incidents

Police and emergency services responded to multiple incidents across Warriewood and Elanora Heights between 08 and 13 February, according to reports received by authorities.



Warriewood

Fire And Hazard Responses

Shortly after 11:00 on Sunday, 08 February, crews from Fire and Rescue NSW Mona Vale Station attended Narrabeen Park Parade following reports of arcing powerlines. Firefighters confirmed the lines were live and smouldering and contacted Ausgrid to carry out repairs.

Just before 17:15 on Thursday, 12 February, Fire and Rescue NSW Narrabeen Station responded to a fire alarm at an apartment building on Macpherson Street. The activation was linked to a damaged sprinkler head, which was replaced.

At approximately 07:15 on Friday, 13 February, Fire and Rescue NSW Mona Vale Station attended a reported garbage truck fire at Rat Park on Pittwater Road.

The driver observed smoke coming from the rear of the vehicle and discharged the load into a nearby car park. Firefighters identified a damaged lithium-ion battery from a mower as the ignition source after it was crushed in the compactor. Crews extinguished the fire and the discarded waste was cleared. Authorities advised that lithium-ion battery items should not be disposed of in household rubbish due to fire risks when compacted.

Traffic Incident

Shortly after 14:30 on Monday, 09 February, NSW Police received a report of a motor vehicle collision on Jacksons Road.

Theft

At about 21:45 on Sunday, 08 February, police received a report of property stolen from a vehicle parked on Boondah Road.

Assault

Just before 15:15 on Friday, 13 February, police attended Jacksons Road following reports of a fight.

Disorderly Behaviour

Just before 17:30 on Thursday, 12 February, police received a report of a group of youths behaving in a disorderly manner near Pittwater Road.

Shortly before 19:00 on Friday, 13 February, officers received a further report of youths allegedly damaging property on Jacksons Road.

Elanora Heights

Traffic Incident

Just after 15:45 on Monday, 09 February, NSW Police received a report of a motor vehicle collision on Elanora Road.

Rescue Operation

Shortly after 11:45 on Thursday, 12 February, Fire and Rescue NSW Narrabeen Station was called to Powderworks Road to assist a man who had become wedged in the rear of a parked van. Firefighters used hand tools to remove part of a seat, allowing the man to be freed.



The above incidents were reported to the relevant authorities during the stated period.
