Northern Beaches authorities have approved the sale of Unit 9 at 5 Vuko Place, a warehouse originally purchased by the former Pittwater Council.
Warriewood Warehouse Identified For Sale
The property forms part of a light-industrial complex in Warriewood. Before the 2016 amalgamation of Manly, Pittwater and Warringah councils, Pittwater Council acquired the site as an investment and for staff office use.
Within the same complex, NBC owns Levels 1 to 3, which accommodate administration staff. The current decision applies only to Unit 9.
The unit has been leased to various tenants over time. It is presently being used by the Peninsula Bridge Club as a temporary base while its permanent premises at the Warriewood Valley Community Centre are finalised. NBC also uses part of the warehouse for storage.
The decision to proceed with the sale was endorsed by a majority of councillors at the February 2026 meeting.
Reserve Fund Linked To Sale
The Warriewood warehouse sale forms part of a broader property rationalisation plan aimed at generating up to $10 million within five years.
NBC has outlined that proceeds from property sales are to be placed into a restricted financial reserve. The reserve is intended to reduce reliance on rates and support community infrastructure, environmental acquisitions and commercial development projects.
The proposed sale price for Unit 9 has not been publicly disclosed.
Community Views Raised
Opposition to the Warriewood sale was raised ahead of and during the February meeting, including a protest outside the venue.
Some community members argued the building could be retained and refurbished for wider community use. During debate, discussion included the suitability of the site for community groups and broader considerations about staff and community space requirements.
A motion seeking to defer the item for further review did not succeed, and the sale was approved.
Next Steps
Any additional property sales would require separate decisions of NBC. The marketing campaign for Unit 9 is expected to proceed in line with the adopted resolution.
