Warriewood residents now have a rare chance to view some of the world’s most valuable pink diamonds right in their own neighbourhood instead of travelling into the busy Sydney CBD.
The special showcase is scheduled for 5 March at York Jewellers, located in Warriewood Square. Local residents can visit the showroom between 1:00 pm and 7:00 pm to see the collection. Entry to the event is free for all members of the community who wish to learn more about these unique Australian treasures.
A Local Look at Global Rarity

While these gemstones are famous across the globe, the event focuses on making them easy to understand for people in the Northern Beaches. Pink diamonds have become much harder to find since the Argyle mine in Western Australia stopped operating about six years ago.
Because that mine provided most of the world’s supply, seeing these stones in person has become a very uncommon experience. The shop owner, Douglas Ely, explained that his team wants to help locals explore these jewels in a way that feels comfortable and friendly.
Beyond the Sparkle

The display includes a mix of loose natural diamonds and finished jewellery pieces. Visitors can talk to experts about why these stones have such a unique pink shade and how their value is decided.
The staff at the showroom, which has been part of the local area since 2024, also offer help with custom designs. Mr Ely noted that these diamonds are popular because they represent a sense of individuality that fits well with the local community spirit.
Learning and Celebration
The afternoon is designed to be helpful for everyone, whether they are looking for an engagement ring or just curious about science and history. Guests can enjoy light refreshments while they browse the collection and ask questions. The team at the shop mentioned that while many people see these gems as a smart long-term investment, the main goal of the day is to encourage discovery. It is an opportunity for the community to see high-quality craftsmanship without the pressure of a formal city environment.
