Police are seeking information from anyone who may have captured footage around Warriewood after a man in his 50s was discovered unconscious with serious head injuries inside a Carpenter Crescent home. The incident prompted a major emergency response and an investigation into a possible assault.
Officers from Northern Beaches Police Area Command attended the property shortly before 7 a.m. on Wednesday, 14 October 2026, following a call expressing concern for the man’s welfare. He was located on the lower floor of the house, lying in blood beneath a large television. A crime scene was established as police began examining how the man had sustained his injuries. Detectives made inquiries at the property, with forensic investigators also attending later that afternoon.
Specialist Care During Rain-Soaked Rescue
The severity of the man’s injuries required more than the initial ambulance response, with specialist medical assistance brought in ahead of his transfer to hospital. Three NSW Ambulance crews attended the home, including intensive care paramedics who arrived within five minutes of the emergency call. The man had injuries around both eyes, a suspected skull fracture and a possible spinal injury, raising concerns about his critical condition.

A rescue helicopter was sent from Bankstown and reached the Mona Vale Hospital helipad shortly after 7.30 a.m., despite difficult weather conditions. The man was taken to the helipad for further treatment by an aeromedical team, which placed him into an induced coma before the flight. Firefighters from Mona Vale Station assisted by holding a large tarpaulin over the treatment area to shelter medical staff from the rain.
The helicopter departed shortly before 8.30 a.m. after the man had been stabilised for transport. He was flown to Royal North Shore Hospital, where emergency department staff were waiting to continue his treatment.

The circumstances leading to the man’s injuries remained unclear, with police yet to establish whether he had been assaulted. Investigators have not released further details about what may have happened inside the home before emergency services arrived.
Northern Beaches Police Area Command has asked anyone who was near Carpenter Crescent around the time of the incident to come forward with information that could assist the investigation. Dashcam recordings and mobile phone footage are of particular interest to detectives.
